I had zoomed way in to work on a specific area of a drawing. I didn't realized that when I cut the item, I had some how cut the entire contents of the layer! I continued happily working away until I zoomed back out and realized the rest of the drawing was gone! Gulp. I kept tapping on the various undo buttons but quickly got myself into an undo loop with the transform tool.
Hoping that there was some other way to undo, I download the Procreate Artist's Handbook and searched for "undo". That's where I learned that a two-finger tap performs an undo! A bunch of two-finger taps and my drawing was restored! Woohoo! Some how I had never learned this gesture and man, it is SO much easier than tapping the undo buttons that hide and show at various points.
Sometimes making a mistake is what it takes to learn something new. In fact, I'd say that's probably more the rule than the exception. :)
It didn't work for me at first because I'm using the Apple Pencil and had Finger Mode set to Gestures Only. Once I set it to Selected Tool, I was able to do exactly what you're describing and it solves my problem so thanks again!
