Awesome work, Bas, you nailed it! Winter has come :D Thanks!
You're welcome, Finch! More brushes are in the making... ;)
-- [MegaPack update info] The BLENDING SCULPTOR was a brush request and can also be download with my FREE Paint Brush Set (alternate download via Sellfy). It takes a little practice to control the color flow, so I made this short demo video:
The color runs out at the end of each brush stroke. Keep on painting without lifting your stylus/finger to blend with other colors/strokes, smoothen selected areas or create soft gradients. With each new stroke, the brush gets loaded with the selected color again.
Due to a Dropbox sync problem, some of my free concept/pattern brushes aren't included in the current MegaPack (version 12.0). I'll add them to the next free MegaPack update, which I hope to get ready by the end of July (timeline). Until then, you can download the missing brushes with my Free Pattern Brush Set (alternate download via Sellfy).
As promised, I attached some demo strokes/cheat sheets for the 8 new brushes.
Please feel free to post your brush requests or ideas on how to improve your favorite brush(es).
[FREE MegaPack update #16] Hi guys! As promised, the first part of the free MegaPack update is online (Version 12.0, 300+ brushes).
The "pre-release" update includes: • BLENDING SCULPTOR A • BLENDING SCULPTOR B • ELI CHARCOAL A • ELI CHARCOAL B • EXHAUSTED EDDY • RAGGED RUDOLFO 1.2 • TSUTSUMI DICE 1.2 • WORDEN 2.0
All brushes are sensitive to pressure, tilt, and speed. I'll add cheat sheets and demo strokes for the new brushes tomorrow.
I also added 15 new color swatches as a free bonus:
If you already own the MegaPack, you can get the updated version for FREE :) • Just click the link in your email receipt to download the latest version. • If you purchased your MegaPack via Sellfy or Gumroad, log into your account to find the updated file(s) under "My purchases" / "Library".
I hope you like the new brushes and find them useful.
As always, I'd love to see what you create with them :)
It would be an honor to be in the Beta Brush Dropbox, Georg! I'm now on top of my free space and need to upgrade my DB account, but I plan to do that soon. Thanks! All clear about your release and... wow, the interactive map! A great and funny piece of work!
Fantastic! I'll contact you via dottorb.tumblr.com with details for the Beta Brush Dropbox.
The WORDEN 2.0 is part of the latest DIRTY DOZEN update and will also be included in the upcoming free MegaPack update. I didn't publish the MegaPack update yet since it includes several brush requests and some of the new brushes are still being tested by other artists. But I'll upload a "pre-release" version with the WORDEN 2.0, EXHAUSTED EDDY, TSUTSUMI DICE, and new swatches on Monday (23:00 CET) so you don't have to wait for the complete update :)
If you like, I'll be glad to invite you to my Beta Brush Dropbox, where you can try out all "release candidate" brushes and share your feedback with the beta test team.
The WORDEN 2.0 Pentel-like ink brush is one of my personal favorites and now comes with improved pressure, tilt, and speed sensitivity:
You can download the new brushes together with more than 20 rough ink, grunge paint and gritty shading brushes via Gumroad or Sellfy. If you already own the DIRTY DOZEN Set, you can get them using the download link in your email receipt. The brushes will also be included in the upcoming free MegaPack update.
Since some of you asked for thumbnails of the other DIRTY DOZEN brushes, I uploaded a short video slideshow and collected previews in this Flickr gallery.
Many thanks to Bas Schel who made these great time-lapse illustrations with the WORDEN ink brush:
[NEW Paint Brushes] Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that I added 2 versions of the BLENDING SCULPTOR brush to my FREE Paint Brush Set (alternate download via Sellfy).
Here's a short demo video:
The color runs out at the end of each brush stroke. Keep on painting without lifting your stylus/finger to blend with other colors/strokes and soften selected areas. With each new stroke, the brush gets loaded with color again.
Both brushes are sensitive to pressure, tilt, and velocity.
Hi Nochillkawa! Welcome to the forum :) I'm currently working on an update for my BLENDER & PAINT brushes, which includes a brush that works in a similar way:
The color runs out at the end of each stroke. If you keep on painting without lifting your finger/stylus, you can blend the colors and soften edges. If you use a stylus like the Apple Pencil, pressure controls opacity and tilt controls size. Faster strokes increase the brush size - so even without a stylus, you can get nice changes in stroke dynamics.
Since this brush didn't have a proper name yet, I called it the BLENDING SCULPTOR and added it to my Free Paint Brush Set (alternate free download via Gumroad).
TIP: You can adjust the amount of color that is applied to each stroke using the Color Load slider in the Dynamics tab of the brush menu.
Hi Bas! Thanks so much for your kind words and sharing your wonderful artwork! I'm really glad you enjoy my Dirty Dozen brushes, and it's a pleasure to see that they are of such good use to you :D Since Savage devoted this sub-forum to free brushes, please share future work with my paid brushes in this Marketplace thread ;) Thanks again and keep up the great work! Cheers with butter-beer, Georg
Many thanks, Kawoody! I'll be glad to tidy up the brush folders for the next MegaPack update (which already is in the making).
I'm also working on a .pdf booklet with brush thumbnails and cheat sheets, but unfortunately, a comic project will keep me quite busy till the end of June.
For now, this may help to get a better overview:
• If you have Mac, check out Jarom Vogel's free ProcreateViewer. This genius plugin automagically displays thumbnails of brushes, swatches, and images directly in your Mac's Finder! So you can browse all folders quickly before installing your favorite brushes into Procreate:
